Nature of Business

The Company was established in 1964 as a joint venture between the Phodhivorakhun family group and Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan. Initially, the Company operated under the name Kang Yong Electric Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of home electrical appliances under the “Mitsubishi Electric” brand.

At present, Kang Yong Electric Public Company Limited operates its head office and manufacturing facilities on a total land area of 73 rai, 2 ngan, and 23 square wah, located along Thepharat Road, Kilometer 20, Samut Prakan Province. The Company is engaged in the manufacturing and distribution of home electrical appliances under the “Mitsubishi Electric” brand, including refrigerators, electric fans, exhaust fans, and water pumps. The Company operates under production licenses and utilizes manufacturing technology transferred from Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan, which is also a joint venture partner.

In 1993, the Company was listed on the Stock Exchange of Thailand as a public company, with a paid-up registered capital of THB 220 million, comprising 22 million ordinary shares with a par value of THB 10 per share. In 2019, the Company reduced its paid-up registered capital to THB 198 million, consisting of 19.8 million ordinary shares with a par value of THB 10 per share.

These certifications reflect the Company’s commitment to assuring customers of consistent product quality, environmental responsibility, the highest level of safety, as well as effective control and reduction of energy-related costs.

The Company has always placed strong emphasis on user safety in all electrical appliances it manufactures. All products are developed and manufactured in accordance with Premium Safety standards, which comply with the safety requirements of Mitsubishi Electric Corporation, Japan. Particular importance is given to product design and the selection of materials that are flame-retardant and safe for consumers. In addition, both the manufacturing processes and products consistently adhere to the Company’s environmental management policies, including initiatives to reduce substances that are harmful to human health and the environment. The Company also complies with the RoHS (Restriction of the Use of Certain Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment) requirements by reducing and controlling the use of ten hazardous substances in electrical appliances, including lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent chromium, polybrominated biphenyls (PBB), polybrominated diphenyl ethers (PBDE), di(2-ethylhexyl) phthalate (DEHP), butyl benzyl phthalate (BBP), dibutyl phthalate (DBP), and diisobutyl phthalate (DIBP).

The Company manufactures and distributes home electrical appliances under the “Mitsubishi Electric” brand, including refrigerators, electric fans, exhaust fans, and water pumps, for both domestic and international markets.

For the domestic market, the Company distributes its products exclusively through its sole authorized domestic distributor, Mitsubishi Electric Kang Yong Watana Co., Ltd., which supplies products to dealers nationwide.

For international markets, the Company distributes its products through sales company in oversea, supplying products to more than 20 countries and regions, including Japan, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Oceania (Australia and New Zealand), Southeast Asia (such as Singapore, Malaysia, and neighboring countries), Central Asia, and the Middle East.
